As you can probably tell by today’s post I have come to the difficult decision to stop creating The Frumps.

This wasn’t an easy decision for me as Lance and Virgil (and later Kim) have been running inside my head for almost seven years. But I had to take an HONEST look at what I was doing and decided that I needed to finally end The Frumps.

While creating the comic has been an absolute joy for me, I just wasn’t getting the type of “success” I was hoping for, and it was getting me down.

Then a few days ago as I sat down to sketch this week’s comic all I could think about was this one joke I wanted to try at my next Stand Up Comedy gig.

That’s when it hit me!

I didn’t want to be drawing a comic at that moment. I wanted to be in a room full of people and tell the jokes I had floating around in my head.

So I put my pen down and took an objective look at The Frumps.

It just wasn’t going to be unique or good enough to get that large audience I wanted. And while it hurt to finally admit that to myself, I knew it was true.

So I closed my laptop and turned on a Dave Chapelle special, and knew THAT was what I wanted to strive for.

And here we are…

Getting ready to close this chapter of my life and move on to the next one.

So on behalf of Lance, Virgil, and Kim, Thank You for everything!!

You guys have made this comic one of the greatest experiences of my life.
