Journey to the Mall
Going to the mall is incredibly painful for me. But unfortunately there are some instances in life where I cannot avoid it. And by some “instances in life” I mean my girlfriend is forcing me to go. And by “forcing” me to go I mean… well, it basically means I have to go.
I hate it. I hate it so much. It’s full of stores. It’s full of people. And it’s full of shoes. Stores upon stores of shoes. And each one mandates a quick visit that requires trying on, at the very least, twenty pairs of shoes. Each one appearing very similar to the previous one, minus on tiny detail that is completely unnoticeable to my male mind.
And of course I have to give my “honest” opinion.
It’s hell on earth for me.
Thankfully my girlfriend had become a rabid fan of this online store service (much like a European equivalence of Zappos), which has cut down on her trips to the mall without cutting off her deep desire to clothes shop. It’s been a life saver for me and countless other men.
So tell me boys and girl… when was the last time you went to the mall? Was it a quick in and out? Or was it a painful ordeal that felt as arduous as a trip into Mordor?
But before I go, I need to address the elephant in the room with today’s comic. Yes, I am very aware of the way I drew Kim and her mom. And believe me, even though I feel incredibly weird about the whole image, I still had fun drawing it out. I just tried not to think about it too much… it’s just horribly wrong.
However I’m happy with the way it came out, and decided to reward my $5 Patreon subscribers with a full sized version of those two in their own little pin-up. Because… hey it’s Virgil. It’s what he would want.
